The Unforgettables Foundation to begin offering aid in Ohio

A new branch of The Unforgettables Foundation has been building steam in the Dayton area since mid 2016, and is close to being able to start helping families in need.

The Unforgettables Foundation was started in California in 1999 with the goal of providing financial assistance to needy families following the death of a child. They want to help low income families provide a dignified, appropriate burial for their children who have passed away; something that can be prohibitively expensive for lower income families.

Since The Unforgettables Foundation was able to start helping families dealing with loss beginning in 2001, over 5000 families have been assisted in more than 80 cities in Southern California. There is also a chapter in Las Vegas helping those who need it.

Jared Still of Springboro is working to get the Ohio chapter of The Unforgettables up and running. He's been working long hours to bring this chapter of the Foundation to the Dayton region. The organization is set up and a board of directors has been established; the group is working on raising money right now. Still says taht he hopes to begin being able to start assistaing faamilies in the Miami Valley in the first quarter of 2018, and he hopes he can extend the Ohio branch down towards the Cincinnati area in the future.

Still has been running giving day events with local retaurants and grocers to raise money to help families put their loved ones to rest. The Unforgettables Foundation has worked with several locations in the area, including Chipotle, Kroger and Dorothy Lane Market.

According to Still, the Foundation is entirely volunteer based, and it runs through the charity of its supporters. "All the money we raise goes back into the foundation,: he said.

Another goal of the Foundation is to empower communities to memorialize children who have died. :It helps these families to remember their little one,: said Still. "To me, if we can provide a small support that helps these families have a dignified burial, that's what we're there for."
